The decision to quite medical career and become a footballer is unthinkable in present time in spite of sponsors pouring money on this sport. But this decision was easily taken by one bengali in spite of losing his elder brother Radhnath Banerjee, who died on the field while playing for Howrah Union, one year after his birth. In spite of facing stiff resistance from his father who was a lawyer, the boy stood still in his decision to make his passion as a career. And thus a legend was born. Mr. Samar (Badru) Banerjee, who not only played for the 'National Club' Of India, Mohun Bagan from 1952 to 1959 but also became the first bengali to lead India to a commendable fourth position in the Melbourne Olympic Games in 1956.

Born exactly 20 years after Mohun Bagan lifted the IFA Shield in 1911, this young lad's skill was spotted by Bali Prathibha Coach Narayan Banerjee. "Sports used to be your only past time then " quipped by Badru Banerjee, who grew up playing a wide range of sports.

You cannot confined one's talent in a place and similarly his fame spread quickly from his hometown to the Kolkata Maidan and many big clubs tried their best to sign him. In the mean time he lead his college team R.G.Kar Medical College to win Illiot Sheild in 1952 & 1955. While playing for BNR, he was brought to Mohun Bagan by family friend and actor Jahar Ganguly, then Hockey Secretary of the club. He was kept under lock at Aurora Studio in Maniktala, so that no other club can 'hijack' him. Such was the stature of the player.

He made immediate impact in Green-and-Maroon and made the team champions in IFA Sheild 1952,followed by first time Durand Champion in 1953 & first double in 1954 by winning both IFA Sheild and Kolkata league. He was an important member of the team which won the Rovers Cup in 1955 for the first time. He also helped the team to win second 'Double' in 1956 & latter became the captain of 'Mariniers' in 1958.

His playing career had achieved every success that a player can ask for. So, on the auspicious day of 29th July 2009 Mohun Bagan Club felicitated this stalwart with 'Mohun Bagan Ratna' & he was the 10th who won this prestigious award. Mr. Sailen Manna, another legend, was the first recipient of this prestigious awards in 2001.

'I feel honored to receive this award' was the immediate reaction of Badru Banerjee on an recent interview with TOI.

As a supporter I feel honored when my club is giving away this prestigious award to some of our ex-legends which helps me to know about the rich heritage of my favorite club.

This blog is going to be somewhat different from my previous posts. In this blog, I am using this medium to showcase my talent in C programming language. Hmm...sounding over confidence but sometimes this creep in to you when you achieve some success in some field. Yes, for the first time in my life I am successful in compiling a full length code of my project which is very important for my future endeavor. So, cheers.

Now, back to my project and how it will be helpful to you all. Let me clarify one thing straight way, this is not something which is out of sorts but a very popular project assignment for those who are learning C programming language for the first time. There is no award is guessing the project. Yes, you are right it is a project of 'Telephone Directory'. And those who haven't guessed it right, there is nothing to shame about as you have now known the project name.

Now, what are the utilities I am offering in this software. Nothing new my mate, just old wine in new glass. But still I believe my project rather software coined in technical terms has some thing to offer to my clients! Clients? sounds interesting or this is because I am thinking too much about my career as a software professional. Just leave this discussion for the time being.

Now, using this software you can create your own phone book by inserting your contacts name, phone number and address and at a later time you can search your contact by using an of the following options.
1. Record Number (which is unique and not user dependent).
2. First Name.
3. Last Name.
4. Address.
5. Phone Number.

Using the same above mentioned options you can also update your contacts because in the present competitive market of mobile communication many of us are trying to get the best economic offer from a mobile company and so are changing numbers frequently.

Nothing can be completed until and unless you can delete them. This is true in our life also where delete can be synonym ed as death. Here also you can do the same thing using those five options.
But, there is a special option in my software i.e. if you try to search, update or delete any record number which has been already been deleted by the user my software will ask for if you want to update that record number again or not? Moreover in order to insert or update any contact information you have enter a valid mobile or land line number. The valid number does not mean whether the number is in use or not as it is not possible for me to check that but to give a number that can be considered as a number. Confused? use the software and you will get accustomed to it. The last and not the least once you entered a number you cannot insert that number for any other contact. That's all my software is offering.

Do you want it? Contact me and you will get it free from me. But remember one thing after using the software for the first time a text file will be created and never delete it for the perfect execution of the software.

Before wrapping it up, I like to thanks the following persons otherwise this project will never be successful.

1. Souvik Samanta (Coding & Testing)
2. Subhadip Dutta (Testing)
3. Soumitra Banerjee (Idea & Testing)
4. Suchintya Mallick (Testing)
5. Didi (Idea)

So, this is our software not only mine.

I am back.
I am back from nowhere.
But I am back.
Yes, after a month gap I am back to my dashboard to post a new article. But I have nothing in my mind to write. I am just running through many ideas which are appearing in my sub conscious mind as fast as speed of light. But nothing is materializing. Is it because I haven't written any blog for a month long. I don't think so. I am not a professional blogger. I write my blog for refreshing my mind from doldrums. Hey! I am joking. How can I be in doldrums when I am doing nothing?

This is because one day I was returning home with mother on a rickshaw and the rickshaw puller suggest three things in order to develop West Bengal.

1. Develop education.
2. Develop health.
3. Develop basic amenities.

Don't wonder that what's new in this? But sure you can wonder that if the rickshaw puller can identify the reasons behind the rapid decline of our State then why these can not be identified by our political parties. In our State there is an ongoing trend that if you raise your voice against the ruling party you will be symbolized as 'anti-left'. But I am raising this question against all parties irrespective of left or right, ruling or opposition party. Do something for God shake!

If you all don't do anything. No problem. There will be some questions raised by common people before election, voters will float their views and some one like me will continue writing blog of this type.

But the question is will there be any change in common person's life?
The question can only be answered by Time.
